If you are the legal representative of
Jimi's estate and you don't want his ROIOs shared here you can send me
an e-mail at idontbelievetherearenoids@yahoo.com and I will close this
blog and stop sharing Jimi's ROIOs freely with other fans. As you will
know ROIOs exist - you can't make them vanish. So, why not let Jimi's
fans download them for free instead of having to purchase them from
commercial bootleggers on auction sites? The ATM series was created by
fans to be shared freely amongst fans. We support Jimi and his estate
by purchasing his official releases which are absolutely not shared
here.
Very nice that you started with the FTO series. Thank you

This is absolutely one of the best FTOs.. have it already, but thought i'd mention there's actually 21 , not 19, FTO issues.. I mention this because # 20 is "The Blue Thumb Acetate", which I've been looking for for quite a while.. Stuff he did with "Arthur Lee & Love" and Steven Stills etc..
ReplyDeleteTHe FTO one is a much longer version of another very short boot also called "The Blue Thumb Acetate", both with more tracks and the ones that are the same are longer also..
Just checking that you do indeed have that one..
Cheers!
I thought I had it and can't find it. Will have a real good look to see if I can dig it out. I've asked Will J the guy who made the series to send it so don't worry we'll get it if I can't find it. He's a great guy.
DeleteFound FTO 020 so I have the full set. Will post the next one later today.
ReplyDeleteNo, there's 21 in the set.. ([FTO 021] 1969-04-20 Dallas - composite master) Not to worry, I have it and am UL'ing it now, will have a link for you soon.. It's a zip so you can repack it if you like...
DeleteYes I know there's 21 - I was letting you know I have number 20 which you were asking about.
DeleteThanks!
DeleteWelcome. For FTO 005 there are three versions - the original, Rev A and Rev B. Started to upload them and will post them tomorrow.
DeleteFirst, thank you for doing this series as the f/u to ATM.
ReplyDeleteA worthy choice, and of course the most intelligent choice.
Second, this is hands down one of the best of the series; my Hendrix on iPod periodically changes,as I shuffle choices around when I update my iPod...but Capricorn tape always remains without change.
Third, this is one of the best covers of the series...and so much UNlike the other cover jackets...it all exists on the cloud,so-to-speak, so the 'covers' are of course whatever ATM,FTO,or anyone chooses them to be (unlike an official record store product).
I was always curious if I actually had the correct cover as it was 'too good' for the series...guess i did! :-)
Lastly, the next release (FTO 004) is the 1st of the series I didn't have! That's great...I'm at work for 24 hrs., so hotfile is blocked (though curiously filepost, filefactory,& rapidshare aren't) so I anxiously await my return home tomorrow to snag FTO 004...after all these years of searching.
take care

Yup, there's two different covers.. actually, I have seen 3, but only the tray back of the third , which, incidentally, appears to be the original too, as it has only the original 6 tracks.. so perhaps I should have called it the "first"? You are correct that this cover suits the release.. it's a very clean boot with tight punchy and warm tracks.. and very good playing.!
DeleteWould you be willing to post your covers?
ReplyDeleteThat's all 3 (or 2 1/2 as you say..?)
I would be sure,if you asked, it would be allowed.
take care

Mind reposting this? That link is broken.
